2006 Rockhound of the Year - Dee Fly

The Austin Gem and Mineral Society has named Dee Fly as the AFMS Club Rockhound of the Year for 2007. As a current vice-president, one of her responsibilities is the club's building and its assets. Her efforts in the last year have included taking a complete inventory, updating records, serving on the show committee, and the board of directors. Dee is more than willing to step in whenever and for whatever is needed. Her organizational skills really had a challenge in June due to the water damage in our clubhouse. She would be the first to say that the removal, cleanup, and repairing process could not have been accomplished without the members who have spent many hours doing so. Dee, however, has been the driving force in this endeavor. Adding to this is the time she also spent in the estimating and insurance adjusting for the damages. The building certainly is shaping up, cleaned, and almost returning to full use. Thank you Dee, for your work and management of such an undertaking for AGMS.
